Bombay Sapphire East is a Premium gin, of the London Dry type, with an alcoholic strength of 42.0%. This gin is made by means of three distillations of pure grain alcohol, the steam of which passes through a basket located high up, where the botanists are. In this unusual way, the oils and aromas they contain are extracted.
The botanicals used in this gin are the same ones used in the elaboration of the classic Bombay Sapphire (juniper, lemon peel, coriander, licorice, cassia root, angelica root, orris root, cubeba and grains of paradise) with the exception of the lemon and black pepper, characteristic of the East variety.
The gin obtained is clear and light, with lemon and black pepper standing out in its aroma over the rest of the botanicals. On the palate, as on the nose, lemon and black pepper take center stage, accompanied in this case by juniper.
Bombay Sapphire East is presented in a bottle with straight sides, curved shoulders and an exact design to that of the classic Bombay Sapphire, but in this variety it is much more bluish and its label changes from white to navy blue. The bottle cap is made of aluminum and has a capacity of 75 cl.
