It is a Premium gin, French of 44.0% alc./vol., Obtained by quadruple traditional batch distillation, three from the wheat grain with water, and a fourth with the botanical components incorporated, which is called fresh destillation.
The botanicals used are juniper, orange peel, coriander, licorice, cinnamon, cassia, nutmeg, cardamom, grains of paradise, cloves, and iris flower and root.
The final product is clean, bluish in color due to the iris flower, very balanced, light-bodied, with floral, spicy and slightly citrus aromas, and a light flavor, somewhat spicy and with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
This gin is produced in France by Angeac Destillery. The name is a tribute to Fernando de Magallanes, who went around the world in search of the island of spices.
It is presented in a classic 70cl transparent wine-type bottle, serigraphed with naval motifs and with a portrait of Fernando de Magallanes on the neck.
